Clear Lake Farm Public Trail Rides

Clear Lake Farm (CLF) is the only public trail riding stable in Ontario working exclusively with Icelandic Horses. The experience of the magical tölt in an environment of serenity and peace is unforgettable.

Everyone is welcome. Accomplished equestrians are intrigued by the stamina and speed of the Icelandic Horse and challenged to master the different gaits. Less experienced riders appreciate Icelandic Horses for their smooth gaits, sure footed way of traveling, and their level-headed temperament.

The CLF team provides proper, safe equipment for riders and horses. The quality of horses, equipment and the knowledgeable, friendly staff make the trip to CLF worth while. Whether for a first time rider or an experienced one, a suitable horse is available. All tours are led by experienced guides. Before each ride, safety instructions are given.

Clear Lake Farm Public Trail Rides 1 hour trail ride $45 per person
2 hour rides $80 per person
Day Trip (4-5 hours ride) $150 per person
Extended Day trip (5-6 hours ride) $185 per person

Customized riding tours for multiple days with varying routes are also available on request. Autumn is the best time of the year for multiple day tours. This season’s temperatures are perfect for long rides! The colours of the Indian Summer are breathtaking.

Staying at Clear Lake Cottage is convenient and a great chance to experience the energy and life at Clear Lake Farm.

Please note:

  • Trail rides and day tours by appointment only.
  • Long pants and hard soled boots with a heel are best.
  • Helmets are mandatory; they are available.
  • Minimum age for trail rides is 10 years.
  • Maximum body weight for riders: 120 kg or 260 lb.
  • Payment before the ride (cash or cheque only).
  • Only one rider per horse.
  • No dogs please.

CLF trail rides and day tours are available from the beginning of May until the end of October, by appointment only.
