2010 Calendar of Events
Every year Clear Lake Farm (CLF) offers an interesting and motivating variety of events. An annual Icelandic Horse show and a well-thought- through, comprehensive series of clinics are complemented by recreational weekends.
All events highlight the uniqueness of Clear Lake Farm: quality school horses, experienced teachers, great facilities, accommodation on site, a lake just down the lane, and a setting close to nature. CLF has it all.
The CLF team will provide a special time for all visitors, guests, customers and students.

Beginning of stud service by Logi frá Skarði
The First Prize stallion Logi frá Skarði is one of the last sons of the famous Honour Stallion Hrafn frá Holtsmúla still available for breeding. Logi has been awarded First Prize for offspring and has produced over 30 First Prize horses.
Foal Package Weekend – open to general public
This clinic is scheduled for people who are purchasing a horse through the CLF Foal Package (which is now discontinued). Due to the small number of remaining Foal Package customers we will allow other participants into the clinic at regular clinic fee. The topics and content of the clinic will, however, be catered to our Foal Package customers and focus on owning, training and riding young horses. Clinic fee with own horse: $184, clinic fee with school horse: $224

Our public trail riding stable offers: 1 hour rides – 2 hour rides – day tours – tour packages – all options by appointment only
Breed Introduction weekend - Come and learn about Icelandic Horses
This customized weekend is geared towards people wanting to learn about Icelandic Horses and how to ride them. Focus will be on explaining the tölt and how to ride it. Theory will be accompanied by demonstrations. The seminar will start with a general introduction about the breed and the special gait tölt on Saturday morning at about 9 a.m..
Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning will be filled with riding the Icelandic Horse! Seminar fee: $120

Presentation of the horses for sale at CLF
Schedule:
10 a.m. – noon Presentation of horses under saddle on the oval track and in dressage ring
12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Break for lunch

Clear Lake Cottage will be open to spend the lunch hours.
2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Presentation of young horses in ring at riding stable
3 p.m. – 4 p.m. Presentation of horses under saddle on the oval track and in dressage ring
Each horse will be talked about in detail and shown for about 15 – 20 minutes.

Richard Thompson Horsemanship Clinic - An asset to every horse handler - Clear Lake Farm is proud to present a customized 3 day clinic focused on “Performance Enhancement”
Arrival July 8, 2010 – Clinic starts July 9, 2010 9 a.m. and ends July 11, 2010 at about 3 p.m.
Richard has worked as a cowboy and was a professional polo player and trainer. He got involved in the natural horsemanship scene in 1984. His techniques are based on the “Natural” teachings of Buck Brannaman, Ray Hunt, and Tom Dorrance. This special and unique feature clinic contains parts of the “Learning the language of the Relationship” and also focuses on work under saddle. It is open to all breeds and it is also possible to audit the clinic. Richard Thompson - an excellent and dedicated teacher – will fine tune your horse handling and riding enhancing your and your horse’s performance! Your horse will become attentive, respectful and safer while handling and under saddle. Clinic fee: $500 + tax.
